Michail Sentchourov graduaed from St.Petersburg Conservatory in 1974 and copmleted his postgraduate studies in 1981. At the International Competition of Folk Instrument Players he was awarded the title of Laureat and since 1983 he has been Professor of Balalaika at the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory in St.Petersburg.

Michail Sentchourov has performed frequently as a soloist with the famous S.Petersburg Orchestra of Folk Instruments and in major concert halls all around the world including Carnagie Hall. He has also given concerts in Europe, the USA and Japan.
